Marjorie Work was born in Arizona in 1908. Her parents were American citizens working in Mexico who returned to the United States so she would be born in America. Isaac Ellis (b. 1760) married Elizabeth McCord Spencer in 1780 and moved from Spotsylvania County, Virginia to Gates County, North Carolina. He died in the 1830s. Descendants lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, Montana and elsewhere.
