Aert Theuniszen Middag (b.ca.1640) emigrated from Holland to New Amsterdam, New York in 1661, with his father, whose name was Theunise Gysbert Bogart (the son apparently took his mother's surname). Teunis Dirckse Van Vechten (ca.1612-1700) immigrated during or before 1632 from Holland to Rensselaerwyck in the Albany district of New Netherland (later New York). Descendants and relatives lived in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and elsewhere.

"Ralph Farnham sailed from Southampton, England, April 6, 1635, in the brig "James", and after a voyage of fifty-eight days, landed in Boston, June 3, 1635, aged 32 years.
