John Redmond was born in 1856 in Ballytrent House, Kilrane, County Wexford, Ireland, the son of William Archer Redmond and Mary Hoey. He was a politician and member of the House of Commons. He was the leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party. He died in London in 1918 and is buried at Saint John's Cemetery, Wexford, Ireland.

James Redmond married Anna Crandall, a descendant of William Brewster of the Mayflower. Anna Crandall was born in New England in 1747. Their son, James, was born ca. 1760-1770 in Orleans County, Vermont. Later generations of the family settled in New York State and, by 1900, had moved west to Kansas and Oklahoma. Edna Melissa Mead (1855-1932) was born in Underhill, Vt., and died in Williston, Vt. She was married to William N. Burnett (1853-1899) in 1880. He was also born in Underhill, Vermont. They had eight children. Descendants live in Vermont, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, New York, Connecticut and elsewhere.

Thomas Notgrass (ca.1785-1859) moved from North Carolina to Hardeman County and then to Fayette County, Tennessee.
