Description
Margaret Lawrence was born in England about 1710. She was charged with thievery in London and transported to the colonies bond as a bonds-woman for 14 years. Her contract was bought by Tobias Phillips and she worked as a domestic servant on one of his Virginia plantations. She also bore him two illegitimate sons. Her descendants from her son Thomas are traced in this volume. Currently, descendants live in Arkansas, Missouri, Georgia, and elsewhere.

Henry Houston McCoslin was born in 1794 in North Carolina. He married Sarah America Worthy ca. 1815-1816, daughter of Martin (1732-1819) and Phoebe Worthy. Henry and Sarah were married in Chester District, South Carolina. They later settled in Alabama. Martin Worthy was a son of Thomas Worthy (1700-1778) who died in Charlotte County, Virginia. Descendants lived in Alabama, Texas and elsewhere.
