David Shoemaker (1785-1855) was the son of Anthony Shoemaker and Elizabeth Hamacher, the daughter of Adam Hamacher, Sr. of Mt. Joy Twp., Lancaster Co., PA. Later, they moved with their family to Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA. He married Elizabeth Minnich (1788- 1878). They were the parents of nine children.
