Peter Hamman was born ca. 1604 or 1607 and was buried in Lachen, Germany in 1688. One descendant, Johann Peter (1781-1834) immigrated to America and settled in Pike County, Ohio. Reiff family is traced to Jacob Reiff and his wife, Adelheid Koch who emigrated in 1661 from Affoltern, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland to the village of Lachen. Esra Z. Burkholder (1894-1987) married Lydia Z. Zimmerman (born in 1897) in 1917 in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Esra was the son of Weaver W. Burkholder (1863-1941) and Maria N. Zimmerman (1866-1941). Lydia was the daughter of Aaron M. Zimmerman (1865-1954) and Magdalena M. Zimmerman (1866-1956). Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri, and elsewhere.

The first Reiff families were found in Franconia districts of eastern Pennsylvania. They later spread to Lancaster, Lebanon, York and Cumberland. They later moved to Maryland, Ontario, Canada, Virginia and on to Ohio and West. Abraham Reiff married Barbara Groff. He was the son of a deacon also named Abraham. Abraham died in 1763. He and Barbara had eleven children.

Joseph Edwin Weber was born in 1921. His twin brother died at birth. He served in the Second World War and was trained as a nurse. He also was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was the last survivor of his family line. Information on members of his ancestral lines are included in this collection.

John (Hans) Stauffer was born in 1655 at Altzheim or Weisenau, Switzerland and married Kinget Heistand. He immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1710. His descendant, John Stauffer (1758-1845), son of Christian Stauffer, was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and later moved to Schuylkill County. He was married to Elizabeth Yerger. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Maryland, and elsewhere.

Matthias Reiff Longacre was born 6 June 1836 in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. His first wife, Mary J. Goodwin (1837-1879), he married 8 June 1858. His second marriage was to Mary J. Vanderbilt (1846-1893) on 31 August 1882. His third and final marriage was to Regina V. Noll on 5 June 1901. Matthias died 15 May 1911 in Oleander, California. .
