Fredrik Friman was born August 7, 1862 in Stromsund, Sweden. His parents were Kristoffer Friman and Brita Lena Josefsdotter. He married Wendla Louisa Jemdal in Ranea, Sweden in 1889. They had eleven children. They immigrated to the United States in 1893 and settled in Florence, Wisconsin. Frederick died in 1932. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived in Sweden, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and elsewhere.

Johann Diedrich Fahrenstuck (1696-1775) married Anna Margaretha Wirth in 1723, and in 1726 they emigrated from Germany (via Holland and England) to New York City. August Hager (1843-1921), son of Christian Hager, emigrated from Germany to New York in 1860, moving about 1867/1869 to St. Joseph, Missouri, and marrying Mary B. Reiter in 1869.
