Lorenzo Brown (1823-1900), was born in the township of Pomfret, Chautauque County, New York to Benjamin and Sarah Brown. Lorenzo's parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after hearing missionaries preach in 1834 and later traveled to Nauvoo, Illinois June 6, 1839.
