Thomas Springfield was born 15 July 1766. He married Laodicea Langston (1766-1837). They had twenty-one or twenty-two children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi and Texas.

Alexander Hill (b.1779) was a son of Daniel and Mary Hill, born in Skipness, Argyllshire, Scotland. He was a sailor in his younger years, and married Elizabeth Currie in 1806. In 1821 they immigrated to Lanark Township, Bathurst District (probably in New Brunswick) and in 1833 moved to Tossoronto Township, Simcoe County, Ontario. Mathew Floyd (b.ca.1729) immigrated from Ireland to Camden, South Carolina, served with the British during the Revolutionary War, and in 1784 withdrew with the English and went to England. His son remained in South Carolina. Descendants lived in South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and elsewhere.

William Thompson (abt. 1720-1797) married Jane Buchanan in County Down, Ireland. She died and he married Lydia Graham (1743-1830) and immigrated to Tazewell County, Virginia. William Hickocks (d.ca.1645) and his family emigrated from England to Farmington, Connecticut. "William...was one of the original settlers of Farmington, Conn. Purchased home lot, and died soon after 1645; he married Elizabeth, who died 3 August 1655, who came to Hartford from Massachusetts, in 1648, removed to Farmington and died in 1653."--p. 5. Thomas S.V. Richards moved from Cornwall, England with his mother to Canada about 1845. He later adopted the name of his step-father, Henry N.M. Richards. Thomas became a business man and contractor in Tara, Bruce County, Ontario. He and his family moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1891-1892; then to Strathcona, Northwest Territories in 1895.
