Thomas Rider immigrated to America in 1634 and settled at Weymouth, Massachusetts. He married Elizabeth Lane at Boston in 1645. They had six children, 1645-1655. He died ca. 1655. John Rider, son of George Rider, was born in Holland in 1752. He came to America before the Revolutionary War and settled on the eastern shore of Maryland. Samuel Rider, Sr., one of the original settled of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, was proposed as a freeman in Yarmouth, 7 Jan. 1638/9. In his will, dated 20 Nov. 1679, he named his wife, Ann; sons, Benjamin, John, Samuel, Zachary and Joseph; and daughters, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary. Descendants listed lived in Massachusetts.

Robert Bartlett died in Plymouth in 1676. He was perhaps the son of Robert and Alice Barker Bartlett. He married ca. 1629 Mary Warren, who was born in England ca. 1610 and died 1683 in Plymouth. She was the daughter of Pilgrim Richard Warren and his wife, Elizabeth. Robert Bartlett arrived on the "Anne" in 1623.

Samuel served in the Yarmouth Company (1653-1658) and died November or December 1679 in Massachusetts. Ann died 14 December 1695. They were the parents of eight children. Simon Peter Rider, son of Matthew Rider and Mary Ann Levy, was born in 1849 in Chohoctah Township, Livingston County, Michigan. He married Altha Doolittle (1863-1943), daughter of Alonzo Dolittle and Mary Carrie Hawley, in 1878. They had seven children. He died in 1937.
