Sometime after 1750, Benjamin Butler of Virginia moved to Newberry County, South Carolina. Benjamin was the father of at least one son, Aaron Butler (1770-1831). He married Jane Pitts and they were the parents of Moses Butler (1794-1879) who was born in South Carolina and later lived in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Reese and they were the parents of twelve children. Descendants live throughout the United States.
