Captain Robert Boyd (ca. 1705-ca. 1761) was born in Scotland. He went to Northern Ireland then came to America about 1737. He settled in what is now Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The name of his wife is unknown, but they had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas and elsewhere.

George Remer born in 1680 in the Rhine Valley of Germany appears to be the immigrant ancestor. It is assumed that he had a first wife and some children that died either at sea or upon arrival in America. In Somerset county, N.J., he married Elizabeth in 1710. Elizabeth was born in 1684 in Germany. George died in 1736. His descendant, Mary Remer (1743-1812), was born in Somerset County, New Jersey. She married John Simpson (1740-1808) in 1765. They...
