John Roper (b.1660-ca. 1759) lived in Virginia. He had probably had two wives, Susan and Mary. His descendants settled in Georgia.

Hugh Rawlin Roper (1915-1943), son of A. M. Roper, was born in Oak City, Utah. He married Abbie West, daughter of Ross C. West, in 1942 in Reno, Nevada. He was lost in action while flying a mission in World War II.
