Johannes Roth was born 13 June 1766 in Haberschlacht, Germany. His parents were Johann Ludwig Roth and Maria Margaretha Schmoll. He married Eva Rosina Wolf (1767-1839), daughter of Johann Casper Wolf and Maria Dorothea Juppenlatz, 2 February 1790. They had six children.
