David Rowe was born 31 January 1803 in Holland or Pennsylvania. He married Mary Katherine Hinkle (1807-1876), daughter of Ambrose Henkle and Mary Kite, in 1834. He died in 1890 in Osawkie, Kansas. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kansas, Missouri and California.

Markus Hallvardson (1804-1892) was born in Balestrand, Norway, inherited the Vangsness farm in 1838, married Britha Sjursdatter Vangsness in 1841, and immigrated to Dane County, Wisconsin in 1844--taking the surname of Vangsness (now spelled Wangsness). Descendants lived in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Washington and elsewhere. Includes ancestors to the early 1700s in Balestrand Parish, Sogn og Fjordane County, Norway.

George Smith was born December 1720 and died September 1793. His wife, Christiana was born March 1721 and died 1790. The family settled in Frederick County, Maryland, near the present town of Emmitsburg 21 March 1746. They had eleven children.
