Markus Hallvardson (1804-1892) was born in Balestrand, Norway, inherited the Vangsness farm in 1838, married Britha Sjursdatter Vangsness in 1841, and immigrated to Dane County, Wisconsin in 1844--taking the surname of Vangsness (now spelled Wangsness). James Garcelon was born 4 April 1739 in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. His parents were Pierre Garcelon and Jeanne Bedat. He married Deliverance Annis, daughter of Isaac Annis and Experience Haraden, 29 February 1760 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. They had seven children. James died 18 November 1813 in Lewiston, Maine. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in France, Channel Islands, Massachusetts and Maine.

William Greenup was a planter in New Scotland Hundred, Maryland in the year 1697. He married Mary. Their son, John Greenup (b.1707), married Ann prior to 1731 and their son, John W. Greenup (d.1826) married Elizabeth Cecil Witten (b.1743), daughter of Thomas Witten, in about 1760 in Frederick County, Maryland. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and Minnesota.
