Robert DeBold Williams was born February 11, 1926 in Maysvile, Kentucky. His parents were Robert Norton Williams and Jennie B. DeBold. He married Leota Todd Royse, daughter of James Wesley Royse and Flora Kissick. They had two children. Robert died December 7, 2003 in Maysville. Ancestors lived mainly in Kentucky.

Frederick Royse (ca. 1750-1825) was a private during the Revolutionary War with the Bedford County, Pennsylvania, Militia. He married Sarah DeWitt in Hampshire County, Virginia, ca. 1778. The had at least ten children. They migrated to the vicinity of Bardstown, Kentucky, sometime before 1785 and to Indiana territory in 1799. He was living in Washington, Indiana, when he wrote his will in 1825. Descendants lived in Indiana and elsewhere.
