Description
Biography of Azubah (Freeman) Ryder (b.1784), who moved from Massachusetts to Orrington, Maine, and married Samuel Ryder (1785- 1861) in 1806. She was a direct descendant of Edmond Freeman (d.1682), who immigrated in 1635 from England to Saugus (now Lynn), Massachusetts. Descendants listed lived chiefly in New England.

Description
Edward Griffin was born in 1602 in Wales, son of John Griffin and Ann Langford. He came to Virginia in 1635 and later lived in New York. His descendant, Jesse Ryder Griffin (1825-1883), lived in Peerskill, New York and married Catherine Thompson. Descendants lived in New York, Illinois, Florida, and elsewhere.

Samuel Rider, Sr., one of the original settled of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, was proposed as a freeman in Yarmouth, 7 Jan. 1638/9. In his will, dated 20 Nov. 1679, he named his wife, Ann; sons, Benjamin, John, Samuel, Zachary and Joseph; and daughters, Jane, Elizabeth and Mary. Descendants listed lived in Massachusetts.

John Rider, son of George Rider, was born in Holland in 1752. He came to America before the Revolutionary War and settled on the eastern shore of Maryland. He later went to Leacock Township, Pennsylvania, and served in the Pennsylvania militia during the War. After the War, he went to Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, where he married Margaret Engle. They later moved to Richmond, Jefferson County, Ohio, then finally to Athens, Athens County, Ohio....
