Ambroise Sicard (ca. 1631-1712) was born in La Rochelle, France. He came to America in 1896 with his five children. They settled in New Rochelle, Westchester County, New York. Descendants, some spelling the surname Secor, and relatives lived in New York, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and elsewhere.

James Sams, Sr. (1686/1694-1726) married Kathryn Allyn Tolbut about 1715, and acquired land in Essex County, Virginiainm 1721. Descendants lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and elsewhere. Includes other Sams immigrants to the United States, and some Sams ancestry in England.

James Houston (d.1820) was in Augusta County, Virginia soon after 1745 and there he married Agnes Wilson in 1749. They moved to what is now Greene County, Tennessee in 1778/1779, and lived in what is now known as "Houston Valley." James Houston, his son William and other relatives served in the Revolutionary War. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and elsewhere.

Pleasant Cobbs (1760-1840) was born in Virginia, the son of Robert and Mary Terrell Cobbs. He married Amy Ann Terrell (1766-1838), daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Peatross Terrell and his double second cousin, in 1785. They had fourteen children, 1786-1811. They had at least two, sons, George and Charles. Charles was born in about 1775. He married Ann McCoy in about 1795 in Hagerstown, Maryland. They had twelve known children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana and Oklahoma.
