David Almendinger, son of Johann Erhard Allmendinger and Regina Dorthea Fruh, was born 7 October 1809 in Horrheim, Germany. He married Louisa Friederika Benzler (1817-1887) in 1839. They had nine children. They emigrated in 1840 and settled in Marion County, Ohio. He died in 1886.
