Description
Johann Gottfried Schilling (1802-1881) married Anna Rosina Lange in 1822 and the family immigrated from Germany to Port Adelaide in 1838, settling at Klemzig, South Australia. They later moved to Angaston and then to Gruenberg, Moculta, South Australia. Descendants lived in South Australia and elsewhere. Includes some family history in Germany.

Johann Gottfried Schilling (1802-1881) married Anna Rosina Lange in 1822 at Langmeil, Prussia and, as Lutherans, were subject to religious persecution by the crown princes or kings of Prussia. Eventually they joined with other Lutherans and decided to immigrate (via England) to Adelaide, South Australia in 1838. They soon settled at Klemzig, and in 1842 moved to Angaston, also buying land at Moculta, South Australia. Descendants and relatives lived...
