Christian Friedrich Schmidt was born in 1834 in Brietzig, Germany. He married in Mary Regina Brietzke (1834-1908) in 1859. They immigrated to the United States in 1883. They had six children. Christian died in 1917 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Contains descendancy charts and copies of documents for the descendants of Christian and Mary, many of whom lived in Wisconsin.

Karl Schmidt was born in 1445. He lived in Baden, Germany. Descendant, Johannes Schmidt, was born 22 June 1677. He married Anna Lucia Schmidt (1677-1751). They lived in Ittlingen, Germany. They emigrated in 1705 and settled in Philadelphia. Their children spelled their name "Smith".

Description
Wilhelm Schmidt (1803-1839) was born in Germany. After studying at the University of Halle, he immigrated to America in 1826. Wilhelm settled first in Philadelphia and then moved to Ohio where he was influential as a Lutheran minister. In 1830 he founded the first Luthern seminary west of the Alleghey Mountains. He died at a very young age in 1839.
