Jan Sustacek was born 10 May 1837 in Recice, Moravia. His parents were Frantisek Sustacek and Barbora Vrbova. He married Mariana Maschova (1840-1914), daughter of Jan Mascha and Marie Loukotova, 14 June 1864. They had nine children. They emigrated in 1873 and settled in Owatonna, Minnesota. Michael Bauer was probably born in Germany in 1712. He married Maria Margaret Steinbonhem and they probably came to America shortly after their marriage in 1752. They settled their family in Pennsylvania and ulitimately were the parents of ten children. Charles Franklin Ruch was born 24 January 1869 in East Penn Township, Carbon, Pennsylvania. His parents were Lewis Franklin Ruch and Elizabeth Mantz. He married Estella Mary Kistler, daughter of Daniel Moser Kistler and Catherine Whetstone, 25 July 1907. They had one daughter, Emma Kathryn Ruch (1911-1989), who married Kenneth W. Fraser (1910-1987) and had three children. Ancestors and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.

Heinrich Schmidt (1784-1856) and Peter Schmidt (1785-1869) were two of the sons of Jacob Schmidt and Eva Koehn, who had emigrated as Mennonites from Germany to Russia. In 1873, after special privileges (no military service, etc.) were withdrawn, the Russian Mennonites sent investigative representatives to America--and between 1874 and 1880, eighteen thousand Russian Mennonites immigrated, ten thousand to Kansas, and the rest to Saskatchewan in Canada....

Johann Nicholas Schmidt emigrated from Germany in the 1730s and settled in Pennsylvania. He married Elisabeth Barbara Keck in about 1737. Their son, Jacob, was born 11 January 1741 in Albany Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Jacob married Anna Margaretha Probst in about 1764. They had eleven known children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania.
