Description
Johannes Gerber (1796-1870) was born in Switzerland and later spent ten years as a Lutheran missionary in West Africa. He immigrated to the United States in 1834. He was married four times, the fourth time to Anna Maria Ackert, in 1843. The family joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1852 and migrated to Utah in 1854. Descendants of Johannes and Anna Maria Ackert Gerber lived in Utah and elsewhere.
