Joseph Southwick (1809-1849) was a descendant of William and Mary Butler Southwick. His first wife, Mary Ann Martin died in 1846. In 1849, with their four children, his second wife, Mary Walters and her son, George, he immigrated from England, to New Orleans, to Kanesville, Iowa (now Council Bluffs) and then to Salt Lake Valley where he died. Thomas Millett (1605-1675/76) was born in Chertsey, Surrey, England, the son of Henry and Joice Chapman Mylett. He married Mary Greenoway (1606-1682), daughter of John and Mary Greenoway) in 1629. Jeremiah Clemens was born in New Jersey and died (1811) in Amherst Co., Va. He married Elizabeth Moore in N. J. He was the son of Ezekiel Clemens, who migrated from New England to New Jersey to Virginia. Apparently Jeremiah and Samuel were brothers rather than uncle and nephew. Therefore, Ezekiel was the grandfather of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) rather than the great-grandfather.

The Swango family lived in Bavaria as early as 955 A. D. In 1745, William Schwangauer/Swango with his wife and three sons, immigrated to Philadelphia via Rotterdam. The mother died enroute and the father died shortly after arrival. The sons settled in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Kentucky before descendants scattered.

Thomas Shaw (1782-1844) was the immigrant ancestor arriving in America from his native Nottinghamshire, England in 1836. Thomas, his wife, Hannah Daft Hopkinson and their three children settled first in New York City. They eventually settled in Indiana where he died in 1844.
