Martha Priscilla "Cilla" Shaw, daughter of David Charles Shaw and Lula Alderman, was born 29 August 1904 in Alcolu, South Carolina. She was an owner and director of Silver Pines from 1929-1950. In 1950 she was the first woman elected to the Sumter City Council. She served as mayor from 1952-1956. Martha died 9 February 1981.

William Becker Shaw (1919- ) was born in Chicago, Illinois to William Wallace Shaw, Jr. (1891-1976) and Violet Becker (1899-1984). He was a descendant of early Pennsylvania settlers, as well as German emigrants. In 1949 he married Helen Esther Eager (1915- ). Descendants live in Michigan.

George Shaw (1894-1967) was born in Preston, England, son of Christopher Shaw (1867-1947) and Alice Ann Battersby. He immgrated to the U.S. in 1912 and later settled in Spenser, Iowa. He married Julia Gladys Harris (1898-1987) in 1922. She was born in Delphi, Indiana, daughter of William Palmer Harris (1850-1929) and Carrie West (1862-1941).

Torquil Shaw (1805-1895) was a son of John Shaw and Flora McDougald. Anne Shaw (ca. 1804-1881) was also born on the Isle of Jura, Scotland. They married 1827 in Jura. Shortly afterwards they immigrated to America. Couple is buried in the Shaw family cemetery in Harnett Co., North Carolina. Descendants live in North Carolina and elsewhere.

John Greenhalgh (1796-1875), son of John Greenhalgh, married Mary Shaw, daughter of Rachel Shaw, in 1814 in Bury, Lancashire, England. John was transported to Australia in 1820. Mary and two sons joined him in 1823. They settled in Castlereagh, New South Wales, Australia. They had seven children. John was sentenced to prison in 1830. Mary then lived with John Smith (d. 1847) and they had five children. Includes Upton and related families.

Benjamin Shaw (1772-1841) was born in Dent in the West Riding of Yorkshire. His parents were Joseph Dent, a weaver, and Isabella Noddle, both originally of Garsdale. Both the Shaws and the Noddles had lived in Garsdale for generations. The earliest known Shaw was Robert Shaw (d.1744), great-grsandfather of Benjamin. According to tradition, the founder of Clan Macintosh was Shaw, son of the third Earl of Fife. They were a part of Clan Chattan and were loctaed in and around Inverness. The Shaws and Farquharsons were also a part of Clan Macintosh and there were approximately forty-four septs associated with the clan.
