Arthur Barrett (ca.1680-1745), a Quaker, immigrated from England to Chester County, Pennsylvania, and married Lydia Chambers in 1705 at the Concord Monthly Meeeting. They later moved to Frederick County, Virginia. Descendants and relatives also lived in West Virginia, Ohio, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, California and elsewhere. James Shearer (1810-1892) was born in Ayrshire, Scotland and married Mary Marshal in 1840. They settled in Kansas in 1870. Descendants lived in Kansas, Idaho, Iowa, and elsewhere.

Peter Tallman (1623-1708) was born at Hamburg, Germany, the son of Peter Talemann/Taelmann (1589-1622) and the great grandson of Michiel Taleman (b. ca. 1520) of Gent, East Flanders, Belguim. He immigrated to the Barbados in 1647 and married Ann Hill there ca. 1649. They immigrated to Connecticut, ca. 1650. Peter and Ann Tallman had eight children, ca. 1651-1665. They were divorced in 1665. He married 2) Joan Briggs in 1665 at Posmouth, Rhode Island....

Christian Shearer (ca. 1735-ca. 1797) and his wife Sarah were both born in North Carolina. They married ca. 1758, and had eight children. Descendants live throughout the United States.

Balthasar Zumwald (1727-1800) married Maria Clara Linn in 1753 in York County, Pennsylvania. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere.

George Snyder (1755-1840) settled in Dauphin County and married Catherine Amenn. They became the parents of seven children. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, New York, Florida and other parts of the United States.

Hans Leaman Sr. (1733-1802) immigrated from Switzerland to Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1737, and anglicized his name to John Lehman, Sr. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, New York, Florida and elsewhere.

Arthur William Mellen was born in 1873 and died about July 1947 in Rumson, New Jersey. He married Catherine (Kate) Maloney, who died at about the age of 29 in 1903. Late in life Arthur remarried: Eleanor Crooks. William John Shearer, Jr., was born 12 November 1865 and died about 1920. He married Carrie May Lassell on 16 June 1890 in Smyrna, Delaware.
