Description
Harmon Shipman was born in 1717 in Germany and died in 1805 in New Jersey. He and his first wife immigrated to U.S. in 1740. He married secondly Elizabeth Howe about 1765.
Includes families of Andrews, Bloom, Campbell, Conrad, DeWitt, Fisher, Fox, Gass, McCarty, Snyder, Yocum and many others.

Jacob Shipman was married to Rebecca ?; they resided in Wayne County, Tennessee. A grandaughter, Sarah Berry, married Isaac Horton ca. 1845 in Wayne County, then moved to Searcy County, Arkansas. This collection of family group sheets pertains chiefly to the descendants of these Shipman and Horton families, but includes sheets for other Horton families of Searcy County who may or may not be related.

Chiefly a record of some of the descendants of John Stanley. He was born in 1723 to John Stanley Sr. and Lucy Stanley. He married Mary. They were the parents of eleven children. He died 14 Sep 1807. Most of the family lived in Vermont and surrounding areas.

Description
Edward Shipman was born in England and immigrated to America where he settled at Saybrook, Connecticut. He married (1) Elizabeth Comstock (1633-1659) in 1651 at Saybrook and (2) Mary Andrews. He later died in 1697 at Saybrook. Descendants lived in Connecticut, New York, and throughout the U.S. Includes several other Shipman families.

Harmon Shipman, Sr. (b. ca. 1717), came to America from Germany about 1740 at the age of 23. He lived in Harmony Twp., Warren Co., N.J. Six out of eight sons moved to Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania in the 1790s and early 1800s. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Kansas, Indiana, Illinois and elsewhere.
Includes Andrews, Fisher and allied families.

Andrew Bird was born sometime in the middle of the 1600's. He was living in Newtown, Queens County, Long Island, New York in 1683. In 1710 he was living in Piscataway and Woodbridge, New Jersey. Descendants lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Virginia and elsewhere.

Though the earliest named Shipman is Edward (b. ca. 1626 in Hull, England), focus is on Reverend William Cornelius Shipman and Jane (Stobie) his wife, and their descendants. In 1854, the birth of their son forced them to serve their mission in Hawaii rather than in Micronesia as planned.
