Biography of Harry Showalter who was born 13 August 1889 in Rockingham Co., Virginia. He was the son of Daniel Showalter and Hettie Rohrer. Harry married Satie Weaver 24 November 1914. Satie died 26 December 1915 and Harry married her sister Melissa Weaver 19 August 1920. Harry lived in Ohio and was the father of six children. Descendants lived primarily in Ohio, Virginia and elsewhere.

Jacob Schowalder was born ca. 1696-1702 and later immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1750 with his wife, Maria. They settled in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He later died in Chester County ca. 1773. There was also a Christian Showalter, possibly a brother, who settled in Earl Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Christian Burkhalter (1708-1754), a Mennonite, emigrated with his parents from Switzerland to Germany in 1732, and married in 1737. After his parents died, the family emigrated in 1754 from Germany (via Rotterdam, where Christian died) to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Descendants spelled the surname "Burkholder" and lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri and elsewhere. Some descendants immigrated to Canada.

Johann Conrad Boeker married Anna Maria Niemeyer in 1767 and they had two children. He married Anna Sophia Julia Siebricht in 1777 in Meinbrexen, Braunschweig, Germany. They had six children. His grandson, Johann Carl Christoph Friedrich Boeker (1805-1890), married Fredericke Siebrecht in 1832. They had thirteen children. They immigrated to Wisconsin in 1849.

Benjamin Kimsey (ca. 1725-1807) with his wife, Agnes Lane and their eight children; along with his brothers and their families fled from Scotland to Ireland and then to America. They settled with the Lord Baltimore Colony, but about 1755, they migrated to Virginia, then to North Carolina and after Benjamin died, some went to Tennessee.
