Antone Pedro Da Silva was born on the island of St. Michael's in the Azore Islands, Portugal. His father was Antone Francisco Da Silva. He emigrated and settled in Fall River, Massachusetts. He married Maria Da Luz Pereira, daughter of Manuel Medeiros Pereira and Maria Sousa-Aranjo. They had ten children. Antone changed his name to Silvia. He died in 1950. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

David Vinal Smith (1835-1915) was born at Ash Point (now South Thomaston) Knox County, Maine, the son of Wooster Smith (1806-1875) and Mercy S. Thomas Smith (1812-1855). He married Julia Ann Shea (1834-1930) in 1855 at St. George, Maine. They had thirteen children, 1855-1877, all born at Ash Point. David and Julia Ann Smith are buried at the Ash Point Cemetery.
