Peder Olsen Hestetun Midthum was born 9 March 1814 in Ardal, Norway. He married Sigrid Haaversdtr Nundal (1815-1858), daughter of Haavard Pederson Nuindal and Dordei Sjursdtr Aretun, 18 June 1837.
