John Gorsuch was born in London in 1600. His father was Daniel Gorsuch. He married Anne Lovelace in 1628. They had thirteen children. John died in 1648. Anne and seven of her children emigrated in 1651 and settled in Virginia Colony. Traces ancestors, descendants and relatives in England, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and elsewhere.

Richard Skinner was born in the year 1667. He was the son of James Skinner of Marblehead, Essex County, Massachusetts. Richard married Alice Woods 30 November 1682. She was the daughter of an innkeeper in Marblehead named William Woods. Richard and Alice were the parents of twelve children. Richard died 9 March 1727. Descendants lived primarily in Massachusetts.

He married Catherine Maryetta Hunter (1870-1957), daughter of David Patterson Hunter (1845-1917) and Mary Hughes (1847-1883), 7 June 1911 in Salt Lake City. They had fourteen children.
