Gardner Snow (1793-1889) was born in Chesterfield, New Hampshire, the son of James Snow and Abigail Farr. He married Sarah Sawyer Hastings (1795-1855), daughter of Jonathan Hastings and Selome Burt, in 1814. They had nine children. They joined the LDS Church in 1833, and most of their descendants are members.

William Watson Roberts (1798-1871) was the eldest son of John Roberts and Ann Watson of Nottingham, England. He immigrated to Lowell, Massachusetts in 1828. He married Nancy Hoyt Bean (1806-1903) in 1831 in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Obadiah and Nancy Bean of Poplin (Fremont) New Hampshire. They raised nine children.
