He immigrated to America before 1635. He married second Sarah ca. 1635 probably in Ipswich, Massachusetts. He was the father of four known children. He died in Jun of 1655 in Stratford, Connecticut. Henry Soper (ca. 1640-ca. 1699) was born in England. He immigrated to New York ca. 1660, settling in Long Island. He married Sarah Wattles, a daughter of Richard and Mary Wattles. They had seven sons. Descendants live throughout the eastern and central United States.

John Roper (b.ca.1588) and his family immigrated from England to Dedham, Massachusetts in 1637. Descendants lived in New England, New York, Virginia, Iowa, Alabama, Florida and elsewhere. Some descendants became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and moved to Utah and elsewhere. Includes ancestors in England, Ireland and elsewhere.
