George J. Hill, son of Charles W. Hill (1831-1923) and Adelia Catharine Riley (1836-1887), was born in 1857 in Caton, New York. He married Jessie Fidelia Stockwell, daughter of Benajah Flavel Stockwell (1836-1919) and Emily Lodiweska Hyde (1840-1879), in 1882 in Wright County, Iowa. They had nine children. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, New York, Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The Bowlby family descends from Hugh de Bolbec who came to England with William the Conquerer in 1066. This Hugh de Bolebec was a cousin of Walter Giffard, first Earl of Buckingham. Henry Dow (1605-1659) was a descendant of Joseph Dow (d.1561) of Tylner, Norfolk County, England. Henry married widow Joan Nudd (widow of Roger Nudd), and immigrated in 1637 to Watertown, Massachusetts. They moved to Hampton, Massachusetts in 1644. Thomas Dow (d.1654) immigrated from England to Newbury, Massachusetts in 1639. William Hartwell (1613-1690) was born in Kent, England. He settled at Concord, Massachusetts, probably in 1636. He was the father of two sons and three daughters. Descendants lived in Massachusetts, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Connecticut, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Illinois, California, Missouri, Minnesota, Texas, Michigan, Alabama, Idaho, Washington, Canada and elsewhere.

Joseph Kingsbury was born in England. He married Millicent Ames. They had seven children. They emigrated in 1628 and settled in Massachusetts.

Stephen Goodyear (ca.1600-1658), son of Zachary Goodyear and Susanna Baxter, immigrated from England to New Haven, Connecticut and married Margaret Lewen in 1648. Descendants lived in New England, New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Illinois, Arizona and elsewhere.
