John Stafford (born ca. 1736) married Margaret Brunt in England and moved to Bohevny, Ireland. Descendants lived in Ireland and many came to Pennsylvania and Virginia. One descendant, Francis Marion Stafford (1838-1924) lived in Johnson County, Kentucky.

Jacob Spears (1754-1825) changed his surname from Speers, and settled in Bourbon County, in 1788 (moving from Pennsylvania). He and his son established a distillery and named the whiskey after the county.

Samuel Spears was born in about 1761 in Pasquotank, Halifax, North Carolina. He served in the American Revolution. He married Sarah in 1775. They had four children. He married Rebecca Smith, daughter of Lauther Smith and Barbara Lauderback, in Tennessee. They had four children. Samuel died 27 May 1838 in Hawkins County, Tennessee. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Tennessee, Missouri, Oregon and Washington.

George Spear (b.ca.1613) immigrated about 1642 from England to Boston, Massachusetts, and settled at Braintree (now Quincy), Massachusetts in 1644. In his old age he moved to New Dartmouth (now Pemaquid), Maine, where his third wife had property; this would have been after 1678, when his second wife died. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Minnesota, South Dakota, California and elsewhere.

Later, he married a second time to Elizabeth Coffee in 1806. Christopher was the father of ten children. Descendants lived primarily in Kentucky, Virginia, Missouri and elsewhere.

William Spears was born ca. 1740, perhaps in Scotland and settled in Woodstock Windham County, Connecticut. He married in 1764, Mary Hammond, daughter of Jonathan and Katherine (Davis) Hammond. George Zimmerman, Sr. (d.ca.1777) immigrated about 1740 from Switzerland to Orange (later Augusta, now Rockingham) County, Virginia, and married twice. The surname was changed to Carpenter, but both surnames were used interchangeably until after the Revolutionary War. George Sr. died while part of the Revolutionary Army. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, Texas and elsewhere.
