William Thompson (1744-1811) was probably born in Pennsylvania. He married Mary Patton (1764-1787), a daughter of John Patton and Mary Anderson, before 1780. Mary died soon after the birth of their second child. William married Hannah Wallace (1768-1844) in 1788 and they had seven children. Descendants live in Ohio and Illinois.

Nicholas Wren (ca.1631-1701) immigrated to Virginia before 1652. He married Margaret Bell. They were the parents of two sons. John Lebrecht Baer was born in Affoltern am Albis, Zuerich, Switzerland in 1838. He immigrated to St. Joseph, Missouri in 1860. In 1880 he returned to Switzerland as a missionary for the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While there he met and married Esther Salzman Spillman of Maschwanden, Switzerland.
