In the 1850s three brothers and one sister came from Steinhart, Bavaria, Germany to America where they all settled in Indiana. The siblings were George (Leonard) Springer (1824-1898), John Martien Springer (1827-1918), George (Michael) Springer (1828-1909), and their sister Maria Katharina Springer Thiele (1836-1917). Their numerous descendants live in Indiana and other parts of the United States.

Dennis Springer (1712-1760) and his wife, Ann Prickett, were married in Burlington County, New Jersey, in 1736. They had eleven children, 1737-ca. 1758. The family was living in Frederick County, Virginia, by 1753. His will was written and proved there in 1760. His fourth son, Levi Springer (1744-1823), was living in the vacinity of Fayette County, Pennsylvania, by 1782. He built the Springer homestead. He married twice and was the father of fifteen...

Carl Christopher Springer was born in 1658 in Sweden. At about age eighteen, he was kidnapped and taken to Virginia. There he was sold for a bond servant for a term of five years. He reached the Swedish settlement on the Delaware River, ca. 1681. He married Maria Hendricks in 1685. They had nine children. He died in New Castle County, Delaware, in 1738.

Description
Carl (Charles) Springer (1658-1738), son of Christopher and Beata Sallina Springer, was born in Stockholm, Sweden. While studing in England, he was kidnapped, taken to Virginia, and sold as a servant. After his term of bondage exiped five years later, he made his way to the Swedish settlement at Christina [Wilmington, Delaware]. He married Maria Hindricsdotter in 1685 there.
