Francis Starkey (1832-1911) was born in Hurley, Warwickshire, England to John and Mary Pearcy Starkey. In 1861 he married Jane Matthews (1833-1913). They were both members of the L.D.S. Church. They were the parents of eight children, all of whom were born in England. In 1882 they were finally able to immigrate to Utah where they settled in Roy and became respected members of the community. Descendants live in Utah.

Alphonzo Bert Simmons (1861-1938) was born in Uintah, Weber County, Utah to William Bert and Mary Taylor Simmons. In 1871 Bert moved with his mother to Hooper, Utah to be closer to his step-father's other families. Samuel Hadley emigrated from England to Roy, Utah at 2 years of age. His mother died of smallpox shortly after arriving. His father remained in England and remarried. He married Rachel Starkey in 1893. They were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ancestors and descendants lived chiefly in Utah, and also in England.

Randolph Barber (b. 1776?) was born in Virginia and was the descendant of Scots-Irish emigrants. He married Mary Foster (1773?-1861) and they were the parents of nine children. Joel Starkey was born in 1797 in the Carolinas. He married Dellonie Whaley (1800-1886), daughter of Alexander Whaley in Blount County, Tennessee. Joel disappeared after 1838. Dellonie is buried in Bollinger County, Missouri. Descendants lived in Tennessee, Missouri, and elsewhere.
