Joseph Calvin Starr was born in 1826. He married Louisa Haines (1835-1913), daughter of Granville Haines and Rhoda Merchant, in 1854 in Clinton County, Ohio. They had seven children. They moved to Jay County, Indiana in 1860. He died in 1897.

Israel Starowlanska, son of Aaron Starowlanska and Sophie, was born in 1860 in Kuznica, Grodno, Russia. He married Chana Finkel. They emigrated and settled in New York. He died in 1931.
