News-Stead is a journal of history and literature. This publication is named for William Thomas Stead, who lived from 1849-1912. At the age of twenth-two, and with only two years of formal schooling, W.T. Stead became the youngest editor in England. He edited the Northern Echo in Darlington in 1871. Joseph Robinson (ca. 1728-after 1790) was born in Connecticut, the son of Samuel Robinson (b. ca. 1671) of Fairfield, Connecticut, and the great grandson of Samuel Robinson (ca. 1613-1673), the immigrant. Samuel Pool was born about 1760 in Virginia. His parents were Adam Poole, Sr. and Esther Manning. He married three times, to Miss Simmons, Sarah Simmons and Nancy Ann Simmons. He had nine children. He married Kathryn Elkins Longmire 17 June 1937 in Alexandria, Louisiana. They had four children. He died in 1965 in Tarrytown, New York. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The Reade family immigrated from England to Massachusetts in 1635, and returned to England, where the husband died in 1656. His widow went back to America and married Henry Summers in 1660.
