Samuel Charles Wilkinson (1886-1981) was the grandson of Charles Wilkinson (1816-1880) and Sarah Mercer who had joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Yorkshire, England. His father, John Mercer Wilkinson immigrated to Utah in 1862 and settled in Hoytsville where Samuel was born. He married Ida Steed in 1910 and they lived in Ogden.
