He married (1) Hannah Sessions, daughter of James and Ann Sessions, November 10, 1685 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They had one son, Philip Packer, christened June 29, 1707 in Philadelphia. Philip married (2) Rebecca Jones, daughter of Daniel Jones. They had seven children.

Family history and genealogical information about the ancestors and descendants of Chester Rex Steffey who was born 5 October 1919 in Craig Co., Missouri. He was the son of Carl Rex Steffey and a descendant of Abraham Steffey (born ca. 1775) of Berks Co., Pennsylvania. Chester married Sara Coe Higbee 21 August 1942 in Fort Mason, California. They were the parents of two children. Descendants lived in New Mexico, Maryland and elsewhere.

John Adam Steffen (ca. 1736-1802), a Revolutionary War soldier, was born in Germany or Switzerland and immigrated to America in 1750. He married Agnes Pfrang (ca. 1738-after 1822) in 1757 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. They had eight children, ca. 1758-1779. He died in Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Descendants listed, especially descendants of his son, Frederick Steffen/Steffy (b. ca. 1762), lived in Pennsylvania, Ohio and elsewhere.

About thirty-one early immigrants to America named Stephan, Steffen, Steffan and variants thereof are identified and briefly described. The immigrants arrived from about 1660 to 1796. The majority appear to be Swiss or German. The names Steffy and Steffey are not used until after their arrival in America.

Johannes Stephann was born 26 May 1671 in Canton Bern, Switzerland. He married Elsi Graff. They had seven children. His sons John Peter Stephan (1709-1776) and Ulrich Stephen (1710-1760), immigrated to America and settled in York and Lancaster Counties, Pennsylvania. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana, Illinois and Texas.

A genealogy of the descendants of Schuyler Hamilton who was born in 1878 or 1789 in Amherst County, Virginia. He married Susanna Dotson. He died in 1861 and is buried in Ramsey, Norton, Virginia. Descendants and relatives lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Oklahoma, Michigan and elsewhere.
