John Stemmons was born in 1911 in Missouri to William Sandy and Alma May Zimmerman Stemmons. He moved west and married Rowena Stringham and they had 5 children. Eventually he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Information collected by his son on his Stemmons and Zimmerman lines are included in this material. Chiefly a record of the descendants of Martin Stemon. He was born ca. 1730 in Germany and died in 1768 in Bedford County, Virginia. He married Mary Goggin ca. 1755 in Bedford County, Virginia. She was born ca. 1740 and died after 1790. They were the parents of four children. Descendants lived in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Utah, and elsewhere.
