John Adams was born ca. 1770 in Loudon Co., Virginia. He married Ann Colville 9 January 1787 in Virginia and died 1829 in Knox Co., Ohio. George Stillman lived in the Wiltshire village of Steeple Ashton and married Lady Jane Pickering. She is believed to have died at sea when they immigrated to the United States in 1683 or 1684. Nathaniel Foote (ca.1593-1644) married Elizabeth Deming about 1615, and immigrated from England to Watertown, Massachusetts, and they later were among the first settlers of Wethersfield, Connecticut. John MacCoone was born in Scotland about 1650. He came to America and settled first in Massachusetts, and then the family moved to Rhode Island. The family name was later shortened to Coon and many of his descendants are included in this volume. Descendants are found throughout the United States at the present time.
