About 1805, John and Mary Fink and 11 children migrated from Gettysburg, Penn. to the Ohio valley. Their daughter, Elizabeth married Patrick McDonald in 1823. Patrick (with his mother and two brothers) immigrated from Ireland to Perry County, Ohio about 1821. Descendants and relatives lived also in Kentucky and one family migrated to Washington.

Lorenz Hubert (Lawrence Hoover) was born 25 December 1832 in Gieselbach, Bavaria, Germany. He emigrated in 1847 with his mother Margarett. They lived in Harford County, Maryland. He married Eliza T. Smith 16 July 1854 in Putnam County, Missouri. They had nine children. He died in 1913. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Missouri, South Dakota, Idaho, Kansas, Iowa, Arizona and California.
