Zachariah Compton (1710-1790) was the grandfather of Nancy Compton (1803-1888), who married Marshall White at Lebanon, Ohio in 1832, and had four sons. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Illinois, Kansas and elsewhere. Ancestors lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia and elsewhere.

The Akright family was probably the earliest of all these related families. They immigrated to the Colony of Maryland many years prior to the Revolutionary War. Descendants and relatives left Pennsylvania to lead the migration into Kentucky and Kansas and later they scattered throughout the United States.
