George Philip Duddra (d.1741) immigrated from Germany to Montgomery County, Pennsylvania during or before 1722. Peter Dodder (1803- 1875), a direct descendant in the fifth generation, married Margaret Struble and moved from New Jersey to Overbrook, Kansas. Descendants lived in Kansas, Michigan, California and elsewhere.

Description
The emigrant ancestor, John Hopping (1647-1722), was baptized at East Budleigh, England on April 24, 1647. He married Rebecca Hand Smith ca. 1679 after settling in the East Hampton Colony on the eastern end of Long Island, in what is now the village of Wainscott, in East Hampton Township, Suffolk Co., New York. He had two children: Matthias Hopping (168-1759) and Sarah Hopping. Descendants live in New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan and elsewhere.

Wendell Essig was born in the canton of Berne, Switzerland ca. 1700. He came to Baltimore in 1750, married Anne Eve Matte, and settled near Hagarstown, Maryland. Their son, Simon (1754-1852), settled in Pennsylvania. He married Julia Schneer (1761-1844) and later eventually moved from Cumberland County, Pennsylvania to Stark County, Ohio in 1808. Johan Helmuth (Helman) Carl (Corll) was born about 1736 in Germany. He came to America with his family and settled in Pennsylvania. He married Maria Elizabeth and they were the parents of three children. He died about 1808. Information on many of his descendants, especially those of his sons Henry and Fredrich is given in this volume. Descendants now live in Ohio, Pennsylvania, California, Iowa, and elsewhere.

Floris Willemz Crom or Crum was born in about 1642 in Opijnen, Gelderland, The Netherlands. His parents were Willem Willemsz and Teuntje Gysberts. He emigrated and settled in Flatbush, New York.
