William Janes (ca. 1610-1690) was born in Essex County, England. He and his wife, Mary, immigrated to America and settled first at Boston, Massachusetts. Eight months latter they migrated to New Haven, Connecticut. William and Mary Janes had eleven sons; only four married; the others died as infants or were killed by indians.
