Reuben Thacker was born 5 October 1764 in Lynchburg, Virginia. He died 21 February 1870 in Windsor Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. He married Jane Ward (Frances Holland?) 11 July 1786 in Louisa County, Virginia. He remarried two other times: Nancy Allen and Permilia Murphy.

John Newman was possibly born in Ireland and immigrated to America. He died in 1758 in Richmond County, Virginia. He had three sons, John (ca. 1730/40-1826), James, born ca. 1745, and Leroy, born ca. 1748. Descendants lived in Virginia, West Virginia, Texas, Kentucky, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and elsewhere.
