Charles Thorp, born at Stadhampton, England, March 30, 1838 to Reverend John Thorp and Elizabeth Ormandy. He came from England to Canada as a young Episcopal minister, then he came over to the United States. In 1865 Charles married Mary Bagnall presumably in Quebec, Canada. Samuel Legg and his wife, Hannah (b. 1785), had six children, 1806-1830, born in England. The family immigrated to Canada and settled in Elgin County, Ontario. Descendants listed lived in Ontario, Michigan and elsewhere.

John Lynch was born about 1728 probably in Virginia. He married Mary and they lived in Cumberland county where he was a land owner and carpenter. They were the parents of at least five children who later moved west into North Carolina and Kentucky. Information concerning many of their descendants is given in this volume. Members of these lines now live in Missouri, Oklahoma, Washington, California, and elsewhere.

Thomas Longmore (a.k.a. Thomas L. Moore/More), parents not listed, was born 1 Aug 1812 in Great Britain. He came to the United States in 1824. He married Esther Stevens, parents not listed, about 1842. They had 14 children. Thomas died about 1885 and is buried in Mt. Etna, Iowa. Esther died about 1874. Their descendants have lived in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Maryland, Arizona, Utah, and other areas in the United States.
