John Tinker immigrated, probably from England to Boston in 1638. He married widow Sarah Barnes and Alice Homan and moved to Lancaster, Massachusetts. He died in 1662 in Hartford, Connecticut, while on a business trip.

Nicholas Andrews was born in German Switzerland about 1821. Tradition says that Nicholas, his first wife, and five children emigrated from Zurich, Switzerland in 1854. His first wife died and he married Margaret who had been born in Virginia. She died in 1860 or 1866 at age 46. Nicholas is said to have then suffered mentally from his losses and the hard life in his adopted land and he was found sitting on a creek bank, feet in the ice, frozen to death....

Richard Lyman (d.ca.1640) and his family immigrated in 1631 from England to Charlestown, Massachusetts, and moved in 1635 to Hartford, Connecticut. Samuel Lyman (1787-1876) was a direct descendant in the seventh generation. He lived in Southampton, Massachusetts, married twice, and was ever active in church, civic, and military affairs.
